The Broadwalk at Edinburgh Marina provides a luxury mixed use development.
balance of public streets, paths and open spaces complimented by a series of perimeter blocks containing residential and commercial accommodation. The land use out with the building footprints, private gardens and courtyard areas is for public use and promotes full accessibility, high permeability and connected spaces for both residents and visitors to enjoy the harbour environment. This is achieved through a series of shared access routes, a central pedestrianised avenue leading to the quay side ‘Broadwalk’ promenade and other nodal points including Stopford Square.
The proposed buildings facilitate a mix of uses comprising commercial properties on the ground floor areas fronting Stopford Parade and Stopford Square and residential uses above these and on all levels for the remaining perimeter blocks including the housing units facing North Break Water Road.
The courtyard areas within the perimeter blocks feature
raised plinths with shared and private garden spaces above ‘underground’ parking and service areas.
